It all began after I had on my Cerulean badge. I was chilling at the Pokémon center, waiting for Nurse Joy to complete healing my Crobat, Cyndaquil, Shiftry and Dugtrio. Yes, this is quite an interesting selection of Pokémon I have here, but I'm still new, so I was experimenting around. I'm minding my business, watching Cyndaquil eat her nummies and light up like a Christmas tree...then some old man comes...He looks worn and torn, like he couldn't sustain life anymore. Dreaded gray hair and a nice long beard, he approached me, humming an unfamiliar song.

"Do you know this song, little girl?" He had good diction as he spoke slowly.

Cyndaquil hopped on my lap in defense without burning me. "No, sir..."

"For it be the theme of Lavender Town..."

I've heard of that place, that's where Pokémon go when they die. They rest in this tower that's over 50 feet tall, I assume. I've never been inside. My mother's Azumarill got into a train accident and was hoisted up there.

"Oh...I see....Is there a gym there--" Why did I ask that?

"HAHA! Naïve girl, that place and surrounding cities holds the tales of the mysteries behind the eyes.....the Creepypasta..."

Creepy. Pasta. "...Uhm....what?"

"You never heard a Creepypasta story?"

"No.....I haven't..."

The old man laughed. "Let me explain!!" He sat down, his back cracking, flexing his fingers. "This one has to involve Lavender Town.............Be the story of Hypno's lullaby...Not a story because, eh, no one knows much about it..."

Hypno. I've heard of it. It's a full Psychic type Pokémon. The Evolution of Drowzee. I've never seen it in person. "Please, proceed..."

"Hypno was this Pokémon....possessed or whatever.....he was as tall as an Ursaring or a Vespiquen. At night, he'd take children, hypnotize them and kidnap them, doing whatever he wants to them. All we found were missing reports of children, and some reports of children crying, saying that their dead. They'd lie down and refuse to get up. End up killing themselves. Oh god...these children were so badly brain-washed and possessed..........No one knows what Hypno does exactly do them...."

I stopped. "That's it? Just reports of missing children, and if they've been found, they claim a Hypno hurt them?"

"Yup..." He stretched the Y in 'Yup.'

I raised an eyebrow and stood up. "Where were these children found?"

"Outside of a large cave beyond yonder by Lavender Town....We went deep, but not deep enough...."

It probably goes underground. After gathering this little bit of info, I came to a conclusion. "Somebody needs to find this Hypno and see what his deal is. I'm sure if someone took the time to talk--"

"HEE HEE HEE!" The old man choked. "When you heard of the land's most wanted criminals, do you negotiate with them? How would you feel if some----thing---hypnotized your child to their death bed?"

By then, I stopped listening. I gathered my Pokémon in their pokeballs and already set out of the Pokémon center.

-----

It was dark by the time I found the cave. The passer-by's called it "Lullaby cave" Because of "Hypno's lullaby." I guess. Hypno would hypnotize children with this call and....do whatever he does to them. It sounds like phony. I doubt a Pokémon--a Pokémon--could be this human-like and cruel.

I called out Cyndaquil so she could light the way. Hesitantly, we walked in.

Inside, I heard some children, but didn't see, singing the Lavender Town song, slowly and with sadness. I was scared, of course, but I didn't turn back. I had my trusty Pokémon with me. If I had let Dugtrio out, he'd be having a ball. We walked for a while. Occasionally seeing some wall. Imprited on the wall were UNOWN symbols spelling "HEDEAD" or "IMDEAD" or "DENY" or "NOMORE" and on the other side was this backwards large printed "LEAVE" As if someone was begging me to get out for my own good.

I didn't turn back. I was too scared too...

Minutes and minutes of walking in the darkness with the echoes of children singing out of tune, every time I took a step, I jump in fear, thinking it's--I dunno, something. I was getting paranoid. Cyndaquil seemed calm, despite this. The deeper we got, we began hearing screams and screeches. Like mothers or what not. Screaming for their child...screaming at Hypno or just to scream and screeched. It got louder and heavier as we walked...

It took a while...but eventually, we came across a different sound...

"Hypno.....Hypno....." Coughing and gagging "Hypno....."

Jackpot. Cyndaquil and I raced ahead; she burned brighter and revealed ahead. The end of the cavern. At the end was, in fact, a Hypno. He was on his stomach, looking to a side, covered in blood, shaking and coughing, dying maybe...repeating his name over and over. When I approached him, he wasn't as big as an Ursaring or a Vespiquen, no, not at all. In fact, he looked as small as one of the Drowzees. No bigger than 3 good feet, like a small child. Why was he so small..?

I took a step forward and I could feel my brain throb. After cringing for a second, I looked at the Hypno, understanding what it was saying.

(Why are you here.....you are not clever, child, for those who arrive shall stay forever--)

"If I wanted to escape, I wouldn't have walked in here in the first place....."

Silence.

"I've heard tales of you, Hypno..." I walked closer. "I can't help but to feel sorrow and empathy..."

Hypno looks up. He has the biggest pupils. (Wh....how...) He was confused, shaking. scared. (What do you want from me?!)

"Nothing...." I knelt beside him..."And I know you won't hurt me..."

He stares.

"I...I want to help you...."

(Why...why do you want to help me....?) He squirms around as if he's trying to get away, but it appears that his legs are disabled. (LEAVE....LEAVE ME ALONE...!!)

"shh..." I place a hand on Hypno's head. He jumps and squirms, unable to move or cry for that matter. "Somebody has to reach in and pull out out of the darkness...."

He holds himself still. (The darkness....that's where I've been for.........too long..........) He shakes.

I then place my hands on his arms and help him up to his knees. He cringes at the touch. This Hypno, this tiny Hypno, was so cold....how long was he in here. He had red on his stomach, scratches and scars, especially his legs. They looked unusable. From what I can infer, It seems like whatever Hypno did for so long, he finally cracked and went mad, hurting himself.

This....this is horrible....who could've--or what could've--done something to Hypno to trigger his actions?

"Will you let me help you, Hypno..."

He looks down at himself, the looks at me, unsure. (why....what will you do to me...?!)

"Clean you up, give you something to eat--" You could see his ribs and bipedal spine. "--and just, help you live again. Because In here, you are dying..."

(why not die.....I have no reason to live...)

I tilt my head. "Maybe your reason to live is to live....we can find your reason....Just let me help you, please....let me be the one to give you a second chance at live..."

Hypno stares at me yet again. He looks at me, Cyndaquil, the UNOWN writing on the cave walls, the blood on the cave floor. His pointy ears flatten and he relaxes.

(Yes.....)

I smile for him. I stand, carrying Hypno in my arms [so that he's resting his head on my shoulder] like a small child. I pat his back a bit. "You're going to be okay..." I don't get a response.

I note Cyndaquil and we get out of there as soon as we can.

--------

I don't know how dark that cave really was, but when we stepped into the moonlight, Hypno hissed like a vampire in daylight. We walk a bit over to a nearby lake [Thank god!] so I can clean the scars off of Hypno. I sit on the bay. "Here, let me clean that blood off of you...."

Of course the water was freezing cold. Hypno was the first to find that out. Cyndaquil used ember to the water, heating it up a bit. Afterwards, I set Hypno in the shallow part of the lake. Hypno just stares at the sky. I pull out a washcloth from my book-bag and begin cleaning the redness off of him. Heh, he didn't look too comfortable. But he did seem surprised a bit. He had that "Oh god! my fur is yellow!!" Look on his face. Kinda cute seeing him react.

Afterwards, we set up camp. With the few apple trees in the area, I grab a few, Cyndaquil sets a fire while I cut the apples into 8ths and stick them through 2 branches. Hypno concentrates on the fire for a minute before I sit next to him.

"You haven't had a good meal in a while, Hypno..."

He shakes his head in dismal. I keep smiling for the poor guy. He was still cold--you could almost see the coldness radiate off of him and into the atmosphere. I can't help but to empathize.

Cyndaquil breaks the awkwardness by sneezing. Her flames on her back reach a treetop and Hypno flies off the log in shock and surprise.

Cyndaquil is embarrassed, I explain. "sorry about that, she does that....powerful sneezes."

Hypno sighs and sits back on the log. He rubs his flattened, empty stomach.

"Here...." I had him a kebab. That's one thing I like about bipedal Pokémon, they can do more things on their own. Cyndaquil and Crobat can't grasp things. Shiftry has branches for arms. Dugtrio....yeah, self-explanatory.

Hypno takes the branch and looks at the slightly burned fruit. It's almost as if he forgotten how to eat. He looks at me like a reference. So I show him, taking a bite out of an apple slice.

Hypno mimics me. His eyes, they had this "This-Is-What-Food-Tastes-Like" Look. Look. Soon enough, be began to take quick small bites. When I set a bowl of chopped baked apples for Cyndaquil, the psychic Pokémon was already out of apples, and he was still hungry.

"Oh my...." I thought out loud

---

After about 23 grannysmith apples. I finally get tired. I look at Hypno's semi-large belly. I won't be surprised if he vomits or anything. He just looks content with himself. Food. Where has it been all this time.

"All righty guys.." I announce. "I think it's time for some sleep."

Cyndaquil yawns while Hypno sits up and shoots a glare at me (S-SLEEP?! No...not ever again..!!)

I stare at the campfire. "Hypno, everyone has to sleep--"

(N-n-not me!! No...I don't want to dream...I don't wanna...!!) He goes back to shivering, holding his legs in the feedle position.

Again, I feel bad. While Cyndaquil takes care of the campfire-somehow- I sit beside Hypno again. "Maybe a lullaby will get you to sleep."

"HYPNO...!" He cries in fear.

"No, not that lullaby. I have a different one....." I open my arms again. "Come here....."

Hypno hesitantly slithers over into my embrace. I lose my eyes and I start humming for a bit. It seems that Hypno was so taut when he entered my arms, after I hummed for a bit, he began to relax. Hypno looked up at me, from when I peeked my eyes open, he appeared to be-tired and-full on wonder and wander. I swayed a bit, continuing the tune for a bit. I looped it over and over until Hypno fell asleep.

It wasn't until I woke up an hour or so later is when I saw Hypno spazzing out.

I heard some grunts and groans in the grass. When I looked up, Hypno was tossing and turning over and over like ocean waves, grunting and calling his name in his dream Him was-cold-sweating and seemed trapped. He tried to scratch himself until he bled-successfully.

Luckily I woke up to shake him from his trance, Hypno woke up screaming...........

"Hypno..." If I had ears, they'd flatten as well...

(I-I can't do it!! I can't go to sleep...not with them around....They won't go away....!)

I didn't ask who "they" are. That'll only make it worse. I held Hypno in my arms yet again...his time, with Hypno mumbling and shivering in my arms. I shushed him, trying to relax him.

"Hypno...It was only a dream...."

As if he didn't know anything about dreams, he peeks an eye open. His fluffy collar rubs against my chest.

"A dream.....a trick of the mind...it wasn't real.....these nightmares aren't going to hurt you, and I won't let them...."  Hearing me say this, Hypno seemed to un-trustingly relax.

I yawned and lied flat-back. "You can sleep in my arms if you want...." When I said that, Hypno already made himself comfy and cozy. He looked cute when he was sane.
Edit: I fixed the errors. ^^;

So, My Pokemon nostalgia boner came back :iconla-plz: So after looking up some Creepypasta and Voilla!

This is inspired from Hypno's lullaby. I took note at how broad it is too---no past events or anything. This is from the perspecitve of the Trainer.

I didn't know Hypno was 5'3 until after I had this dream and I woke up the next morning. This is all literally a dream I had one night....^^;

I won't say too much...^^; Enjoy!
